Morning all...

To celebrate the beginning of a new year, I thought I would take my extreme levels of self-indulgence to new heights by starting a blog. To begin, some basic  things about me:

• My name is Alex (hello). I'm turning 21 this year. I don't want to throw a party.
• I live in Newtown with a beautiful boy named Jack and an empty room. The empty room used to belong to Georgie but she's living it up in California for the semester. I love my little house and my flatmates.
• I adore Newtown. It's the most comfortable place in the world.
• I study at the University of Sydney, majoring in Art History&Theory and English. I enjoy both but I find Art History more challenging.
• I'm a sci-fi and horror geek who loves graphic novels. I have been known to hook up with people purely on the basis of this fact.
• Clearly, I have appalling taste in men. It's kind of a thing. I'm dealing with it.
• My best friend is some kind of awesome. When I was 15 I pashed her boyfriend. She loves me anyway. We have matching tattoos. We're that kind of friend.
• I invest a lot of time and energy in reading trashy gossip mags and dancing like a fool at concerts. If I had to tell you what my vices were, I would say that I spend a lot of money on those things. My vices are for me to enjoy and you to discover through close observation.
• I often make the same mistake twice, but usually only if I really enjoyed it the first time round.

I think that's enough of the 'fun fact' parade for this evening. But, in the interests of keeping this blog up and running, I'm gonna do a little 'blog a day' challenge that I saw lurking around the traps. Consider today day one:  a photo of yourself and a description of how your day was.

This is me at the end of a long day. I started and internship at the local art gallery. It was interesting, but I'm looking forward to when the exhibition changes over because then I get to do some of the really interesting hands on stuff. Stoked. Hung out with MK for a bit as well (yes...the one with whom my tattoo matches). She's awesome. I'd tell you what we talked about, but you probably wouldn't understand it. We speak in code.
