Oh sweet Jesus....

So, due to ACTUALLY having a life away from the computer screen I have neglected three days worth of blogging. I'm going to make up for it now. Look out world! A series of pointless facts about me comin' at ya!
Day 10 called for a photograph of my favourite place to eat. I'm torn. My favourite rural place to eat would be Neila Restaurant in my hometown. They are responsible for thrusting me into the work force and it was the best job I've ever had. I looked after their son and occasionally braved the kitchen. I was bad at the kitchen, but good at hanging out with the kid.

My favourite cheap place to eat in the city is a toss up between Pho and Thaitanic. Pho is the cheapest so it wins by default. Both are delicious ways to spend time with friends and they both do take out so we like to buy longnecks and go sit in the park and eat.
Thaitanic, King St. Newtown
Pho 236, King St. Newtown
If I'm eating upmarket in Sydney (which doesn't happen very often) I love Monkey Magic in Surry Hills. Everything is delicious. My favourite is the prawn salad. It's delicious and they make the noodles themselves.
Those are my picks for food around where I live. I recommend trying at least one of them. It's worth it.

Day 11 calls for photos of what's in my makeup bag. This may come as a massive shock to some people: I don't wear makeup on a regular basis. I don't think there's anything wrong with my natural skin tone. Having said that, like almost every girl, I do have a makeup bag. It is mostly filled with drag queen makeup and glitter which I use for extreme adventures into the land of eyeshadow.
As you can see, there's not much to it. Near the surface is some mascara and some eyeshadow. That's about the extent of my makeuppery. Pretty lame. The coolest thing about my makeup bag is the bag itself which I bought in Edinburgh at H&M in 2008. I just really like the black&white emo kid design:
It has birds and treasure and octopuses and all sorts of shit all over it. It's cool.

Day 12, which brings me fully up to date is a photograph of the town I live in. Being a student, I shift around a lot. But my home of the last two years has been Newtown, the best suburb in Sydney. This is King St, home of 800 Thai restaurants (some of which have been mentioned in this blog), as well as every other imaginable variety of food stuff, several super-trendy boutique clothing and book stores and an endless array of coffee shops.
It's so beautiful. I really appreciate living here.

Anyway, that's almost all from me. Today has been spent recovering from the night before, which was not a night of intense drinking but intense dancing and tiredness were involved. Today has been spent transcribing scenes from MK's life from my dicto phone so I can print them off and have them to hand. I'm gonna get back to doing that now. Night.

Day Nine: Fuds

I begin this blog with a photograph of the last thing I bought:
No...not a girl dressed as an Indian. A Cadbury Boost Bar. It was delicious and I won a  free one. Bonus. This photo is from a new ad champaign, apparently. I wouldn't know, I haven't seen in the ads but this is the most interesting photo I could find of the product.

Anyway, tomorrow is my day off. I'm gonna sleep in. I've been getting up at 8.30 every morning to go to work. I'm enjoying the work, but early times are death times. So sleepy. Anywho, going to go and enjoy some TV...mmm..TV.

Day Eight: Singing

Today's post is easy: a song to match my mood. It involves no ranting, no opinions; just pure, unadulterated noise. There are two things I want to share with you. The first is the Cat Empire's song Falling, which is beautiful and addictive and a celebration of all things wonderful, tinged with a bit of melancholy.

Then the second is a wonderful song by The National called Bloodbuzz Ohio. The singer's voice is some kind of marvellous and the whole thing's just that little bit depressing.

So, the conclusion we can reach from all this is that I'm bouncing between euphoric and melancholy. Go figure. Once again, I have to get up stupidly early for work tomorrow...well...stupidly early by uni student standards anyway. Thus, now is time for sleeps. Enjoy the tunes. (Where's the tuuuunes man?)

Day Seven: Mawwiage...

I would like to start this post by stating that I hate weddings. I think that they're a silly waste of time and money. To quote Shameless (brilliant show), "aside from the prezzies and the pissup, give me three good reasons why you want to get married." So, when today's blog calls for me to talk about weddings, I would like it to know that I am gravely offended. But I shall give it a crack.

The perfect day would most definitely NOT involve a cupcake-esque white gown. In fact, it wouldn't even be a white gown because white looks horrible on me. There would be no churches. No 4-million-of-your-closest-friends. Instead, it'd probably be held in a pub. (It worked for my parents and it's my home away from home anyway.) The guest list would be kept to a minimum. I'd be wearing something that looked nice on, probably with Doc Martens because they're the most comfortable shoes known to man. And our first dance would be to this song:
Those are my thoughts on weddings....Moving right along...

I has a tired. I've been working with kids all day, doing still life paintings at the Summer Arts Program. Then I went and did some laps. Tomorrow I have to get up and do the gallery thing again. Thursday is my day off. I'm gonna sleep in so good, you have no idea.

Day Five & Six: Double Blog

Yesterday was busy-times, with lap-swimming, present-making, 21st-attending and Metalocolypse-watching all featuring heavily. Thus, tending to the blog took a back-seat. But, much like the beloved household pot-plant that everyone forgets to water, this blog is still here and not looking any worse for wear. Regardless, I feel like I need to make up for yesterday's lack of writing with a DOUBLE BLOG EXPLOSION! (Hint: It's not as exciting as I just made it sound.)

Yesterday called for a photo/some chat of/about myself from two years ago. This is me two years ago:
I'm at my friend's farewell party before he shipped out the army. I'd just gotten back from my year in Scotland. I was chronically depressed, working at the local club scraping potato bake out of the buffet and not-so-pateintly waiting for the time roll around when I could sneak off to Sydney and start university. I had some seriously asymmetrical hair happening and my skin was so pale it was practically transparent. I spent the whole time biting my tongue regarding poor life choice and careers in the army. I succeeded. I was in for an interesting year involving egotistical, dysfunctional med students, some heavy drinking and the forging of some very special friendships.

Day six (that would be today for those of you playing along at home) calls for a photograph of an animal I'd like to keep as a pet. I had to think about this for a little bit. But this is what I came up with:
TEACUP PIGGY! They only grow to as big as they are there....and they're freaking cute. They're also retardedly expensive.
Alternatively, if I were to pick something not designed for mere domesticity, I would choose:

Yes, that's right. A raven. Because then I could cruise around looking badass and magical all the time and it would be like Edgar Allen Poe. Brilliant....shuddup.

Anyway, that's all from me tonight. Now is time for sleepy face. Tomorrow I take on marauding haudes of small children who will be attempting to do some still life paintings. Guess who gets to be art assistant?

Day Four: Bestest...

So, todays blog involves, my best friend. 'Sif I haven't mentioned how much I love her stupid head in this blog enough already. Gots to show you my favourite photo of her. My new favourite photo of her featured in the last blog. It makes me happy in mah face. But in the interests of giving you a well rounded view, I present:

There she is, all painted up for Ravefest 2010. She looks like a badass cyberchick from some movie involving Bruce Willis and aliens. We danced like fucking idiots that night. It was a whole bunch of fun.

Unfortunately, I don't get to see Maz all that often due to the fact that I love the city, she hates the city and we're both too poor to travel. Thus, my other loves are wonderful flatmates. This is they:
This was before we all lived together. Georgie and I lived together. Jack lived in a crummy flat in Petersham. We all hung out together and got drunk a lot. This si before a massive night at a house party at a friend's place. Love.

Day Three: Firsts...

The third post for this thirty blog challenge is a description of my perfect first date. This is funny because no one has ever really taken me on a date... unless you count a midday munchie run to Clem's Chicken Shop for hot chips and cranberry juice (both of which were highly necessary items at the time). As such, I don't have any real comparison for how a date should go, let alone the perfect date. But, on the flip side I am fairly easy to please, so what would really make me happy would be longnecks in Camperdown Park on a nice sunny day and maybe a little trek up to King St for some lunch. Not particularly adventurous or exciting, but I think conversation is the most important thing. All of my happiest memories of people come from the intimate conversations you have when you start to get to know eachother. Stupid little things about people's personalities become magnified into the hilarious and the meaningful. That's my idea of a perfect time. Lame.

So...that's my third blog. Exciting, no? Wanna see what I did today? Excellent.
Have I mentioned how awesome my best friend is? Today we had a picnic in the park with Min and her boyfriend. Luckily...there was play equipment. And a boat. We rocked the freaking boat. Good times. I loves her.
